How it works

Plan the trip, log the spending,
settle up clean.

Three things happen on a trip, in this order: you plan it, you spend money on it, you sort out who owes what. Kindiro is built around making each of those fast. Here's the whole product in three steps.

Step 01 Plan the trip

Build the days. Enjoy the trip.

Create a trip — say, Islay 2026 — and pick the dates. Invite the rest of the group with a link; they sign in (free, just an email link, no password) and they're in.

Then add what's actually happening: the Friday flight, the cottage in Bowmore, the distillery tour on Saturday, dinner at the hotel, the ferry home Sunday morning. Build the days now, enjoy the trip later.

Islay 2026 — five people, three days. The schedule built out before anyone has paid for anything yet. Saturday's distillery tour will pick up its expense in the next step.

Step 02 Log the spending

When someone pays, they log it. The trip handles the rest.

When someone in the group pays for something, they log it. They pick who actually went — not always everyone — the currency, and the day.

They can link the expense to a scheduled event, so the trip knows what the distillery tour cost versus what Saturday dinner cost. Multi-currency works the way you'd expect: each expense stays in the currency it was paid in, no mystery FX rates applied behind the scenes.

Worked example

Marc paid £180 for the Bunnahabhain distillery tour on Saturday. Three of the group went. He picks them, picks the day, picks GBP — done. The tour is now linked to Saturday's schedule, and to those three people specifically. The two who skipped don't owe a thing.

£180 for the Bunnahabhain tour. Three names, one day, GBP. The trip knows the rest.

Step 03 Settle up

Settle the trip in the smallest number of transfers.

Whenever you want — usually on the way home — Kindiro works out the minimum set of transfers that clears everyone. Not "Marc owes Eric £14, Eric owes Sophie £14, Sophie owes Marc £14" — just the net moves.

Settlement is per currency, so the GBP and EUR ledgers are kept separate; no baked-in conversion to argue about. Kindiro doesn't take payments, hold money, or charge a fee on transfers. The settlement plan is the deliverable — you move the actual money on Revolut, Wise, a bank transfer, or however your group already does it.

What you don't have to do

A few things you can stop doing.

  • You don't have to keep a separate spreadsheet running alongside the trip.
  • You don't have to use a second app for the money side — the schedule and the spending live in the same place.
  • You don't have to convert currencies in your head, or argue about which day's exchange rate to use.
  • You don't have to remember who was at which dinner — the schedule already knows, and the expense knows which event it belonged to.
  • You don't have to chase anyone for a £40 IOU three weeks after the trip. The settlement plan is one screen and goes out to the whole group.
Honest limits

A few things Kindiro doesn't do.

No booking integrations

No flight-email imports, no airline or hotel hookups, no auto-filled reservations.

No payment processing

The actual money moves on Revolut, Wise, or your bank. We don't touch it.

No native mobile app

The web app works well on a phone — but it lives in your browser for now.

We'd rather do a few things well than a lot of things badly, and the things above are on that list for now.

Three steps. Five minutes to set up.
The rest of the trip is yours.
